The handbook should help both applicants and teachers in the specific preparation for the examination. It can also serve as informative material also for employees of non-governmental agencies, which deal with the aid of migrants in the Czech Republic.
In November 2011, a new handbook for the examination in the Czech language for permanent residence in the CR will be issued in a printed version. It is an expanded version of the brochure with the model test of Czech complemented by a CD with a recording. The publication should aid both applicants and teachers in the specific preparation for the exam. Interested parties can find it in electronic forms at this website.
The operation of the toll-free telephone line has been temporarily suspended. Questions on the issues of the examination of the Czech language for permanent residence of aliens and preparation for this examination can still be sent electronically in Czech to info@cestina-pro-cizince.cz and in English to info@check-your-czech.com.
The Foreign Nationals‘ Integration Support Centres (CPIC) provide counselling and information activities, legal counselling, courses of the Czech language, socio-cultural courses, the operation of an internet workplace and a library. In theCPIC established in 2010, the individual services will be introduced gradually. The current offer of services including the timetable is on the website of the individual centres. All of the services are provided free of charge. All information on the activities of the individual centres can be found here.
A brochure with a model version of the examination of the Czech language has been distributed to all of the centres. The centres provide information on the examination of the Czech language for permanent residence in the CR and preparatory courses for this examination.
The centres have been operating their activities since 2009 inOstrava, Pardubice, Plzeň, Zlín and since 2010 in Karlový Vary, Liberec, České Budějovice and in Olomouc. These centres have been established within projects co-financed from the European Funds for the Integration of Third-Country Nationals, namely already in ten regions. Similar centres are further operated by other organisations inÚstí nad Labem and in Brno.
An alien still has a right to one examination free of charge, namely after submitting a Voucher issued by the Ministry of the Interior. An alien may register for an examination in any of the schools in the List of Schools. The dates of the examination have been set centrally by the Ministry of Education. The examination can be taken on the entire territory of the Czech Republic every Wednesday and every second Saturday of the month. The currently valid dates can be found directly at a specific school.
If the alien passes the examination, he/she obtains a Certificate of Knowledge of the Czech Language. In the case of failure, the applicant obtains NEWLY Confirmation of Having Failed the Examination, which he/she is obliged to submit at another attempt to pass the examination.
- applications for permanent residence on the territory of the Czech Republic;
- acts connected to the extension of the validity of identification documents for residence permits for aliens with permanent residence permits for the territory of the CR;
- announcement of changes in permanent residence permits;
- applications for the issuance of an alien passport for aliens with permanent residence permits who for reasons beyond their control cannot acquire passports from the state whose citizenship they have;
- the cancellation of permanent residence permits in proceedings begun at the request of the alien or of an official authority.
